The Stanford School of Medicine has a long tradition of leadership in medical research, education, and effective clinical therapies. Its close relationship with Stanford’s other major schools, its affiliated adult and children’s hospitals, and its ongoing associations with Silicon Valley, make it uniquely positioned to accelerate the pace at which new knowledge is translated into tangible health benefits.

Over the last decade, the school has expanded access to its educational resources to learners across the globe. This includes the creation of some of the world’s first medical massively open online courses, or MOOCs, the provision of accredited continuing medical education (CME) for physicians and allied health practitioners through the Center for Continuing Medical Education, and the launch of the Stanford Center for Health Education dedicated to designing and delivering educational programs to learners worldwide.
